I offer a wide range of creative writing workshops and classes for ages 8-18. From puppet-making to playwriting, novels, poetry, and the personal essay, my courses are designed to help students follow their own literary instincts in a supportive learning environment. Kids Poetry Class
Ages 8+
In honor of National Poetry month, this fun and dynamic poetry writing class will celebrate the creative power of poetry. Through interactive games, art, and writing exercises students will learn about a variety of poetic forms and write their own poetry over the course of four weeks, walking away at the end with their very own handmade books of original poetry. All materials are included in the course, just come with an open, creative mind!

A Writing Workshop for High School Students
This course is designed for high school students who love to write fiction and want to connect with other teen writers. Over four weeks, students will learn techniques that address essential elements of storytelling craft such as character development, plot structure, dialogue, setting and worldbuilding. Students will also give and receive feedback on their own creative work. Each class will begin with a 45-minute story craft mini-lesson on story craft, followed by fun, relevant writing exercises. The second half of class will consist of sharing and critiques of student work. This workshops is limited to ten students.

The Art of the Story
A Creative Writing Course for grades 3rd-6th
This course is designed for creative writers who are interested in writing short stories, a novel, or a screenplay. Each week focuses on different story elements, including compelling characters, plot and structure, setting and description, conflict and resolution, and effective dialogue. By the end of this course you will have a creative writing toolkit to continue bringing your stories to life!
